Tuesday Tip: Detangle starting at mid-shaft (not from root)

Naturally curly hair is very fragile.  The hair appears coarse but is actually fine.  To prevent breakage, it is recommended that naturally coily hair be detangled starting at mid-shaft.  Combing the hair from the root weakens the base of the hair and snaps the shaft of the hair.

To detangle coily hair, spritz with water (or your choice of detangling spray) and detangle using a wide-tooth comb.  Hold hair at mid-shaft with hands and detangle from tip to root.
